Marlow Gardner & Cooke have been providing insurance solutions, risk advice and claims assistance for over 50 years. We specialise in insurance for businesses but also cater for the personal insurance needs of their owners, families and employees. We provide a single home for your insurances, saving you time and reducing the risk of gaps and duplications in cover.
We are independent insurance brokers, awarded Chartered Insurance Broker status by the Chartered Insurance Institute in 2015 in recognition of our commitment to professional development and excellence. Our team of qualified insurance advisors share over 350 years insurance experience and extensive local knowledge.
We hold a wide range of agencies so we can deliver tailored solutions from insurance companies, specialist schemes and the Lloyd’s market. We are not tied to the products of one company. We act for you, as your agent.
Our professional advice will help you select the most appropriate insurance for your needs and arrange it correctly so it responds as you expect when you have a claim. Managing risk to reduce claims and control premium costs will help you use your insurance budget effectively.
We have been Brokerbility members since 2008. Being associated with one of the UK’s largest and most influential broking groups allows wider access to the best insurance covers at competitive prices whilst we retain that close customer relationship typical of our truly independent status.
We actively support our staff in their professional development and in attaining industry standard qualifications to ensure we maintain high standards of advice and care. As Chartered Insurance Institute members, everyone at Marlows is bound by its ethical and professional standards.
Marlows stands for excellent service and dedication to customers’ needs, a tradition we and our past colleagues have upheld for over half a century.
MGC and individual staff members have supported a range of charities and sponsored events over the years and we will consider and help good causes where we can. We have made contributions to some national charities, such as Diabetes UK and Cancer Research, and also get actively involved in the needs of those closer to us by putting something back into our local communities.
Some of our staff members enjoy working as volunteers including Girlguiding, helping with junior football, committee roles at Community Amateur Sports Clubs, and support work for registered charities.
The PSP Association fund research and provide information and support to people living with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) and CBD (Corticobasal Degeneration). This is a lesser known charity to some but sadly, not to us here at Marlows; a former employee lost her life to the disease back in 2012. MGC Director, Alan Gray, has been raising money for a number of years for this cause, clocking up the miles running in the London Marathon and the Great Eastern Run here in Peterborough.
Supporting Cancer Research has been a focus for us in 2016 with several members of staff forming the “Marlows on a Mission” team for the 5K Race for Life event at Ferry Meadows Country Park in July. It would be difficult to find anyone who hasn’t been closely affected in some way by this disease and so we are pleased to have been able to follow up on exploits from previous years. Back in 2012 Fiona Robinson joined two others in taking a much admired leap of faith with a tandem skydive, raising monies for Cancer Research and Diabetes UK.
The business and all the staff keep an active eye on local charities and community support projects. An ongoing fundraiser has become a weekly feature of life at MGC with “Dress Down Friday”; a win-win situation as the team make regular donations towards a support fund in return for a more relaxed dress code. A donation from this fund was made to the local branch of the Alzheimer’s Society in May 2016 after the staff discussed an article in Peterborough Today which outlined the fantastic work taking place at the Dementia Resource Centre in Lincoln Road.
