As a Tradesman, your time is precious when you run your own business and you never know when an unexpected incident may create a financial crisis for you. Tradesman insurance offers the protection that your business needs which can include Public Liability insurance and Employers Liability insurance, along with various other optional covers.
Consider if you were a plumber working on a property within a block of flats and a pipe wasn’t fitted properly, later causing water damage to other parts or the entire building? If you were successfully sued for negligence, legal defence and property damage costs could escalate into hundreds of thousands of pounds, if not more.
Various other scenarios involving a wide range of trades are all very common place and, without insurance, the costs of any claim (including defending a claim) would fall to you personally.
We are able to provide flexible insurance cover for a wide variety of trades including builders, plumbers, electricians, decorators, cleaners, mobile hairdressers, and many more, with the following sections of cover available for inclusion:
Public Liability insurance – gives protection against claims made by members of the public who have sustained injuries or damage to their property in connection with your business activities. Cover is available from £1 million indemnity limit although higher indemnity limits are commonly recommended.
Employers Liability insurance – gives protection if an employee is injured or becomes ill as a result of the work they do for you and then try and claim against you for compensation. Cover is available for a £10 million indemnity limit but this can be extended.
Contractors All Risks – provides cover for contractors’ property on site including new works through to completion of the contract. Extensions are usually available for Own Plant and Hired in Plant cover.
Other Standard or Optional Covers – these do vary between specific trade types but may include covers such as Temporary Employees, Business Equipment, Legal Expenses and Personal Accident.
