Overview - Personal Insurance
Risk affects our everyday personal lives. Loss or damage to belongings, loss of income, liability to others and financial obligations through contracts such as mortgages.
You can contain some of these risks using insurance to cover loss of assets such as your home, personal belongings or motor vehicles; loss of income following accident or illness; legal liability from owning or occupying your home, domestic animals and pets or from use of a motor vehicle. These can all be protected by selecting the appropriate policy.
We specialise in insurance for businesses but also cater for the personal insurance needs of their owners, families and employees.
What cover do I need?
If you own or drive a motor vehicle you are legally obliged to have Motor insurance to cover Third Party claims (as a minimum). You may also be required to take out insurance as a condition of a contract, such as a requirement of your mortgage.
Other types of insurance are extremely sensible to take out and although they may be optional, from a financial perspective they may be fundamental to the security of you and your family.
Whilst it is a good idea to make sure you are not paying for insurance that you don’t need, you should always think about what would happen if disaster struck and you didn’t have cover to protect you.
To decide on the type of insurance you need, think about:
• Why you need cover
• What you want to include in your cover
• How much you can afford
• How long you might need cover for
• Whether cover is needed individually or for your whole family
